Texas Launches Teen Dating Abuse Hotline

Seventy-five percent of Texas teens have reported that they have experienced dating abuse or say they know someone who has.  That is why Texas Attorney General, Greg Abbott, launched a new program Thursday - the "Love Is Respect" Dating Abuse Helpline.

The Attorney General, says, "the campaign is also distributing educational material throughout Texas schools to help raise awareness among parents, educators and students that teen dating can become violent."

Abbott says the goal is to raise awareness of healthy dating behaviors and the red flags that come with dating abuse while connecting teens, parents and schools to the "Love Is Respect" National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline.
