Police Catch Three Burglars

Lubbock Police bust three suspected burglars, after authorities say two returned to the scene of the crime.

A caller told police about a burglary in progress in the 2800 block of 61st Street just before 1 p.m. Monday afternoon. When police arrived, they caught one suspect, but the other ran off.

While investigators were still on the scene, the second suspect drove up with a third man. Police say they were trying to pick up the suspects' car, but they ran off again when authorities spotted them. Officers finally caught up with them a short time later, and found some of the stolen property in the second vehicle.

And that linked the two men to a burglary two blocks over. Joe Quintero and Jose Quintanilla are behind bars Monday night, charged with burglary and evading arrest.  The third suspect is a juvenile.
