A 20-year-old Lubbock woman was indicted Wednesday, on two counts of intoxicated manslaughter. Police believe 20-year-old Natalie Lopez was driving a car when it crashed into a concrete column near South Loop 289 and Interstate 27, last December. In a police report, an officer at the scene said he smelled a slight odor of alcohol on Lopez's breath.
Two passengers, Amanda Shaw and Michelle Kopp, both 21-years-old, were killed in the crash. A third passenger, David Cadalas, was treated and released.
