Friends and family gathered in Lockney Tuesday to say goodbye to a soldier who was injured in Iraq.
Staff Sergeant Wesley Hunter, 28, died Thursday at his parent's home in Lockney. Hunter was shot several times when insurgents attacked the Humvee he was riding in two and a half years ago. Two other soldiers died in the attack.
Memorial services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Main Street Church of Christ in Lockney. Hunter leaves behind his wife and two young children. He will be buried at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
