Previous estimates of how much damage the city suffered in flooding earlier this month were too high. That's what City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld tells NewsChannel 11.
Dumbauld says instead of $1.7 million of damage to city property, it will probably be more like $1 million. If you add in $2.8 million for damage suffered by the county then the total would be just less than $4 million.
Both the city and county are asking for federal help to cover that cost, which does not yet include damage to private property.
