There's a special person, or should we say "being", here at the Panhandle South Plains Fair for the 9th straight year.
His name is Rock-It and he's quite a crowd favorite. That's spelled Rock-IT and there's a good reason behind the spelling of that name. "The kids come up to me and they ask me, what is that thing? So I tell them. I am Rock-IT the Robot, the ultimate galactic ambassador of good will. My mission is to greet and mingle with as many earthlings as possible. In other words, I'm here to party," Rock-It said before he danced away.
Towering over the crowd at nine feet tall, he says he's one of ten in his family and for those he touches, the reaction is clear. "Oh, I thought he was awesome," said one fairgoer.
