Back in late March NewsChannel 11 covered a large drug bust. Actually, there were several big busts on March 27th.
In the biggest case, eight people were arrested. One of them, Paul Anthoy Rios, pleaded guilty earlier this year to cocaine related charges. This week, he was sentenced before Lubbock Federal Judge Sam Cummings to 60 months, which is five years. His co-defendant Jimmy Cavarubbio was also sentenced this week to 24 months in federal prison, which is two years.
In a separate case, Rondald Rene Deleon Jr. was sentenced to 210 months, which is more than eight years in federal prison. Court records say Lubbock Police caught Deleon with a huge quantity of methamphetamines during a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Buddy Holly Avenue.
