Woodrow Road Collision Sends Two to Hospital

Those injured in an accident at Woodrow Road and US 87 Saturday evening are now out of the hospital.

Beverly de la Cruz, 46, of Lubbock and Malerie Villalobos, 22, were both treated and released from University Medical Center after colliding in their cars around 5 p.m. Saturday.

DPS tells NewsChannel 11 Villalobos' child was strapped in a car seat and only suffered some bruises.

Investigators say Villalobos was headed south on US 87, while de la Cruz was headed west on Woodrow Road. They say it appears Villalobos hit de la Cruz at full speed, because there didn't appear to be any skid marks.

Authorities are still looking into the crash to see if any citations will be issued.
