The West Nile virus has Fort Worth zoo keepers working overtime to fight mosquitoes. Workers are removing standing water and placing mosquito traps around the zoo. Zoo officials are also using mosquito eating fish in several of their moats. Birds and several horse species are also being vaccinated.

In Houston, a trial date has been set for the woman accused of running over and killing her husband. Clara Harris was in court with her lawyer George Parnham. Harris suspected her husband, David, was having an affair when she allegedly ran him over last month. On Friday the judge set a January 21st trial date for Harris, who remains free on bond.

Also in Houston, fire officials believe three transformers exploded shortly after 8:30 on Friday morning one of the explosions occurred underground rattling a nearby building officials say everyone made it out of the building safely with no injuries. The cause of the explosions are unknown at this time.
