TAAS PAC Forms To Oppose Alcohol Sales In Lubbock Co.

Those opposing alcohol sales formed their own political action committee to fight the Let Lubbock Vote petition, and now NewsChannel 11 knows their name.

The group calls themselves TAAS, which stands for Truth About Alcohol Sales. "We've chosen that name for several reasons.  We like the name of truth because we feel like we're fighting a battle of deception and we want people to know the truth about things," Larry Jones with the Lubbock Area Baptist Association said.

TAAS PAC will host a news conference on Thursday, October 9th to introduce the TAAS PAC Steering Committee.  NewsChannel 11 will be there to bring you those details.

Additionally, those who want to become involved in the effort to combat the proposed countywide sale of packaged beer, wine, and liquor in Lubbock County, are invited to a meeting on October 16th, at 7 p.m. at the TAAS PAC Headquarters at 4415 66th Street.
