Property Tax Increase Proposed

If you own a house in Lubbock County, chances are you are going to see an increase in your property taxes. Monday County Commissioners considered a 7.9% increase in hospital district property taxes. The commissioners say the county is not generating enough money from tax payers to meet the growing hospital budget. So, if passed, the proposal would mean a hike in your property taxes of about $5.50 next year. You can voice your opinion on the proposal in a public hearing set for September 9th.
