The City of Lubbock is holding a Drive-Thru Flu Clinic for high-risk adults, aged 19 or older, on Tuesday, October 7th from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. in the Health Department parking lot. It will be just $15 per person and Medicare is accepted. Since some streets downtown will be barricaded, you will have to enter the parking lot from Avenue J.
Becky Brawley, RN, Public Health Coordinator at the Lubbock Health Department says this is the ultimate convenience. Becky says, "We give you your form while you are in your car. You fill that out while you're pulling up to the lane. And then, they take your money or Medicare form while you're pulling on through. Then, your last stop is with the nurses and we give you your shot... and we give you a little goody bag and you just go right on".
You are at high risk if you:
Remember, though, you cannot get the shot if you have a fever, have an allergy to eggs, or if you have ever had a reaction to a flu shot.
