The Junior League of Lubbock is sponsoring a "Pop-Tart Drive" until October 18th. It's part of a weekly effort by league members to fill 700 sacks to send home from school with low income children on Fridays. That way they'll have nutritious and fun food to get them through the weekend until they get their free breakfast at school on Monday.
So, when you check out at any United Supermarket in Lubbock, if you'll just drop pop tarts or any toaster pastries into a special barrel there, United will match every box in the Junior League's "Food-2-Kids" program. Money is appreciated too. The Junior League can buy a lot of food for kids with your cash.
