Hundreds of everyday people, from teens to seniors, are going to Community Medical School at Texas Tech's Health Sciences Center every Tuesday night to learn about medicine. The topic tomorrow is "cutting edge surgery" and Dr. John Griswold, chairman of surgery at TTUHSC, joined us on Healthwise at 5 to give us a preview.
Dr. Griswold said that in his class tomorrow, "We have simulating surgery training systems that we use to train surgeons or surgeons in training, residents, and we will actually have 3 or 4 of those available for the participants to actually do procedures that are very similar to what we do in the operating room."
There has been so much interest in these classes that they are opening up more space tomorrow. So, if you'd like to go to medical school tomorrow night, from 5:30 to 7:30, call 743-2008 until midnight tonight or during business hours tomorrow.
