In an effort to fight crime and bring community members together, the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department will join in "Texas Night Out" Tuesday.
Sheriff David Gutierrez says it's all about bringing local law enforcement and citizens together so they can understand what they are fighting. You can join in the festivities from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday night at the Highland Oaks Community Center, located near the intersection of Woodrow and Slide Roads.
There will be free hotdogs and watermelon, and authorities will have child id kits available as well.
