There is an update on the battle between Texas Tech Hockey and Lubbock City Hall. City Council members Floyd Price and Linda DeLeon have called a news conference for Wednesday.
Late last month in a vote of five to two, Council voted to not accept a lease agreement with Tech Hockey which would have left the City with a deficit of approximately $4000.
Since then, NewsChannel 11 has been told Tech Hockey offered the City more money for the right to stay in the City Bank Coliseum.
The Saga Over Tech Hockey And City Ice Continues Lubbock Mayor Tom Martin says this issue over Texas Tech Hockey and space at the City Bank Coliseum extends from the hockey team failing to renew their contract to use the coliseum, not from the city ending the contract with the team. |
