Texans Starting Center is Latest Injury Victim

Starting center Steve McKinney has a strained left calf muscle that will keep him out of Friday's preseason game against Tampa Bay. McKinney suffered the injury near the end of practice on Tuesday. He expects to be ready for the September 8th season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

The line allowed five sacks in Saturday's 24 - 3 loss to Miami. Carr threw two interceptions. Jimmy Herndon was hobbled in Wednesday's practice by a hip flexor injury. Ryan Schau, who started at left guard last week, will start at center on Friday. Domingo Graham will move up to starting left guard. Fred Weary, out the past week because of a death in the family, returns to start at right guard.
