Here's a short preview of a couple items on Thursday's city council agenda. As you might have heard, a proposed contract between Texas Tech hockey and the city of Lubbock will come up for discussion.
Also, if approved, the city will raise certain fees and lower other fees related to animal control services. Mostly they deal with euthanization charges.
The city council will also hear a proposal to spend (at least $201,000 and) up to $213,000 for one year of lobbying efforts in Austin and Washington D.C. NewsChannel 11 has learned that on a per-capita basis, Lubbock would spend roughly two-and-a-half times more than the city of Dallas in 2009. We'll ask the city council for their thoughts about the lobbying price tag.
