The organization known as Truth About Alcohol Sales wants to be sure the alcohol petition now in circulation is actually being driven by Lubbock residents.

At a meeting Thursday, organizers said the reason this issue is gaining so much momentum is because of outside influences at work.

They say their focus now will be local fundraising and educating the public.
