A Curry County Grand Jury says there is enough evidence to send a New Mexico man to trial for the death of a Lubbock woman. Anthony Casillas, 21, was indicted on first degree murder for the deaths of 36-year-old Melissa Ward of Lubbock, and 53-year-old Gary Payne of Melrose, New Mexico.
Clovis Police found them in a car that slammed into a concrete wall last month. Both suffered gun shot wounds to the head. Curry County's District Attorney says Payne and Ward were riding with Casillas voluntarily, but he wouldn't say what sparked the shooting.
Investigators say Casillas and Payne had worked together with at a silage company and had a history of friction. Casillas turned himself into authorities in Roswell on October 3rd.
