Lubbock Soldier Dies in Iraq

NewsChannel 11 has learned a Lubbock soldier died this weekend in Iraq.

Friends of the family say Jeff Johnson did not die in combat. Instead, it appears he might have died from complications of an appendectomy surgery two days earlier.

Johnson was serving as a medic in the Army. Friends of the family say he was around 27 years old. They also say he leaves behind a wife and four children.
