Lubbock Named Top 100 Sports Cities

Lubbock has been ranked in a national magazine's top 100 list, for best sports cities.

According to sporting news magazine, Lubbock ranks at number 74 out of the top 400 best sports cities in the U.S.

The rankings involve cities with professional teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, major league baseball, or division one universities.

According to the magazine - Lubbock received points for Texas Tech football and bonus points because Tech finished in the top 25 last season.

The hub city also received points for having an arena football team, though the Lubbock renegades folded last month.
