For the second year in a row, Lubbock was the proud host of the Texas Senior Games, and the week long event continued Friday with several events. Among them, the "Singles Bowling" tournament.
Among the many participants, was Centurion Bowler Sam Pate. Sam says he picked up the sport late in life, and bowled for the first time during a family tournament. "So I bowled. And you know, I liked it! So I've been staying with it ever since I was 80. So you started bowling when you were 80 years old? 80 years old, yes. So I've missed lots of fun."
Sam says he hopes to make it to the National Senior Olympics in Virginia, next May, and he just might! Sam says his great uncle lived to see 107.
