Labor of Love Blood Drive

United Blood Services and local radio station MIX 100 joined together for the 6th Annual Labor of Love Blood Drive this week. The drive began on Monday when listeners rolled up their sleeves to help prepare UBS just in case of accidents over the Labor Day weekend.

MIX 100 Program Director, Damon Scott, told listeners he would ride the Galaxy Roller Coaster at Joyland for an hour for each 100 pints raised if they reached the goal of 500, which they did. So just after 2:15 Saturday afternoon Damon hopped on board for a fun ride. By the way, so did NewsChannel 11's Photojournalist John Berry. Damon circled the galaxy until at least 7:15 Saturday night. He gets some time off each hour for a break.
