Two Separate Fires Have Investigators Wondering

Two separate fires in Lubbock, one overnight, one Tuesday afternoon have investigators wondering how they started. The first happened about 12:30 Tuesday morning when a car went up in flames. It happened at Fifth Street and Avenue W. No one was inside the car, but firefighters say it was destroyed.

Another fire Tuesday afternoon kept the Roosevelt Fire Department busy in east Lubbock County. Around two o'clock firefighters went a mobile home fire on east Fourth Street. Roosevelt Chief Bill Sides, says one room and a bed took on most of the damage. No one was hurt and the cause is under investigation.
