Toma's Tan Perfect: Does It Work?

In my opinion, it is better to show off tan legs rather than stark white ones. Why do you think tanning beds are open year round? But wouldn't it be great if there was a product you could use to get a natural tan that could help you save time and money? Check out Toma's Tan Perfect, the sunless tanning system. The makers claim this product will give you a natural tan without streaking, but Does It Work?

In your $20 tan kit you get a body scrub, body soap, tanning lotion, and a latex glove to prevent staining your hands. The makers of Toma's Tan Perfect say that we can achieve a natural looking tan by evenly glazing the lotion over the area we want to tan -- so we'll try it. First, the instructions say to wash the area first before applying the lotion, which I did. The body scrub had a very nice aroma to it.

Then, the directions say to take the tanning lotion, which had a greenish brown color, and rub it on the skin. The lotion itself does have an odor, but nothing that is not tolerable. Instantly, I saw a big difference. My legs looked tan in just seconds! Under florescent lights, it was hard to tell if the tan looked real, so I took myself outside to give it a look. I might add, it didn't look too bad.

Now, I found someone who has a lighter skin tone than me to see if Toma's Tan Perfect looked any different. Jennifer Emrich is a director at NewsChannel 11, and she has some pretty white arms. She wanted to see if Toma's could make her arms look tanner without streaking. Since Jen's arm is so pale, the green-brown color was more evident. But after letting the lotion dry, I put on a second coat on her arm. It looked much better. And even outside, it didn't look bad at all.
