After seven months on the run, Lubbock authorities bust another one of NewsChannel 11's Most Wanted. Daniel Medrano, 29, has been on NewsChannel 11's wanted wall since March, but now he moves to the captured wall.
Investigators with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department tell us they received a call Thursday morning alerting them that Medrano was at a home in the 3100 Block of Emory. When they went to check it out, they found Medrano hiding inside.
Medrano is accused of possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. When we put him on the wanted wall, Medrano was also accused of assaulting his girlfriend. Investigators say he'd apparently been hiding out in the Austin area, but your tips brought him to justice. "The sheriff's office really believes that it takes that type of coordination between the community, the partnership between the community and the law enforcement community to be able to be affective in what we do," Lubbock County Sheriff's Major Don Carter said.
As Medrano moves to our captured wall, he brings our capture count to 21 - more proof that call can make a difference.
