Election Day Events In Lubbock

Not including Thursday night, the election is only four days away.

Local Republicans are holding two events. On Monday evening, the local G.O.P. will hold a rally from 5 to 7 p.m. at the courthouse gazeebo.  On Tuesday, the Republicans will hold an election watch party Tuesday evening, 7 p.m., at Tao Development, 905 avenue K.

Local Democrats will hold an election "get out the vote" event all day Tuesday.   We have details copied below.

  1. Look for a blue VOTE sign at each location.
  2. The local TV stations will run crawlers all day listing the sites.
  3. Radio stations will announce the sites with shortest lines (those with less than a 30 minute wait) at 15 minute to 30 minute intervals all day.
  4. You can find the sites nearest you through text messaging:  *Text in 75044 and the zip of your location.  You will receive a message back with 2-5 Voting Centers nearest you.

The Pew Center will be conducting exit polls on the effectiveness of the Voting Centers at 10 locations, including Patterson Library, Maggie Trejo Center, Catholic Diocese, Sutherlands -- a strategic mix of commercial, church, school, and residential locations.

Let's get out the vote and grow this party on Election Day, November 4, 2008.
