Based on the 2000 census, Lubbock metro population is more than 200,000. Because of that, under current law, Citibus would lose that money. A new bill passed on Monday will save Citibus $1.2 million in federal funding. "It effects me directly. I have two children that I, I have to help support, you know, and without a job, it's kinda' hard to do that," says Kimberlie Majors, a Citibus employee.
The bill is effective for 2003, and John Wilson with Citibus says they're working on a bill for the next six years.
