Lubbock County Raises & Lowers Taxes

Lubbock County Commissioners also adopted next year's tax rate Monday. They slightly lowered the county property tax rate, but you will likely be paying a little more in county hospital district taxes. Right now, you pay $19.17 per $100 valuation. After Monday's decision by commissioners, next year, you will be paying $19.11. However, the tax rate for the hospital district will be increasing from 9.9 cents to 10.4 cents per $100 valuation.

Commissioners are raising the hospital tax to support the needs of University Medical Center. They will vote on the hospital district tax increase September 23rd.
