An unusual find at a surf park near Corpus Christi has attracted the attention of the Texas Marine Mammal Network. It is a whale that was apparently attacked by a shark. Several residents found the whale Saturday and officials believe it may be a Pygmy Sperm Whale. A witness said the animal was still alive when it washed up, but it died almost immediately after sharks attacked it.

Fire investigators say a Dallas mansion that burned down was not caused by arson. Instead, investigators say chemical fumes likely from paint vapors, floor finishing solvents and wood varnish sparked the July 11th fire. The fire destroyed the 43,000 square foot mansion, which was considered the largest house in Texas. The owner of the home has not decided whether to rebuild.

Dallas Love Field just got two new weapons against the war on terrorism. A squad of two uniformed Dallas Police Officers and two specially trained dogs will be patrolling the airport. They will respond to calls regarding suspicious and abandoned packages, luggage and suspicious vehicles. The increased security presence is aimed at raising the safety and comfort levels of passengers traveling through Dallas Love Field Airport.
