Nobody was hurt and the damage was minimal but a wreck on I-27 Tuesday morning made a lot of people late for work. The wreck was in the north-bound lanes of Interstate 27, near the 50th St. overpass. No injuries were reported but as police worked the scene, traffic on the flyover backed up all the way to the South Loop. It took about an hour for traffic to start running smoothly again.

A 10-year-old boy remains in the hospital. Fritz Jackson was hit by a car on Monday just before 9 p.m. at 23rd St. and Avenue Q. Jackson is at University Medical Center in critical condition.

At Texas Tech, school administrators raised their glass to a new Law School Dean and Provost. The reception was held by the Alumni Association and the office of the Provost to honor William Marcy, the new Tech Provost and Walter Huffman the new Dean of the Law school. Both men are Tech graduates, and a number of faculty, staff and alumni showed up to welcome them back to the University.

Give a little food for others and get a free meal for yourself. That was the idea at IHOP's cans for kids drive. IHOP's across four states, including right here in Lubbock, asked people to drop off three cans of food in exchange for a free short stack of pancakes. The cans will go to the South Plains Food Bank. IHOP's goal is to raise 100,000 pounds of food.
