The "Today Show" is updating a tragic story from the South Plains. In August of 2004, a family in Seminole was forever changed when a drunk driver hit their car and killed all three of their children who were riding in the back seat.
Dirk and Tara Lindsey, both riding in the front seat, were rushed to Lubbock after the accident, unaware that 10-year-old Rachel, 6-year-old Madelyn, and 1-month-old Yates were all dead. Today, Eloisa Quintanilla is serving three life terms after pleading guilty to three counts of murder in that drunk driving accident.
Meanwhile, the Lindsey's vehicle is displayed in a moving memorial to those children, which MADD uses to educate others about the dangers of drinking and driving. The Lindsey's have since adopted twin girls from China, appropriately named Faith and Hope.
Thursday morning, the "Today Show" will profile the Lindsey family in the fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. The Lindsey's live in Alabama now, but they will be live on the Today Show to share their story of starting a new chapter in life after such incredible tragedy.
