Jones SBC Stadium Security Guidelines

The Texas Tech Athletic Department announced on Tuesday the security guidelines at Jones SBC Stadium for the 2002 football season. Texas Tech has always maintained solid safety measures to ensure the safety of those attending Texas Tech athletic events.

  1. Only ticketed and credentialed individuals are permitted to enter Jones SBC Stadium on game day.
  2. No video cameras, long lens still cameras, electronic equipment cases, backpacks, knapsacks, large bags, banners, fireworks, umbrellas, strollers, tripods, camera cases, alcoholic beverages, coolers, cans, bottles, wineskins, or foodstuffs may be carried into the stadium. Small American flags may be brought into the stadium only if they are NOT on a pole or small stick handle.
  3. All containers, including handbags and binocular cases, are subject to visual inspection. Patrons who refuse to allow visual inspection of contents will be denied entry to the stadium.
  4. Unauthorized vehicles parked in front of the stadium will be towed immediately.
  5. Policy for stadium passouts remains the same, but patrons may not carry items into the stands upon re-entry.
  6. Smoking is prohibited within the stadium. Those patrons wishing to smoke must exit the stadium through one of the main gates and receive a handstamp for re-entry.
  7. Fans should arrive early and expect long lines and delays at stadium gates, which will open one hour and 45 minutes prior to kickoff. Police officers are scheduled to patrol the area around the stadium the day and night prior to games, with an increased number of security officers scheduled to man each gate.
  8. While these policies are more strict than those used during past home games, they are in place for the welfare of all Texas Tech football fans.
