Lubbock Police Chief Claude Jones took time to address the concerns of the north and east Lubbock development commission. Two of the chief concerns voiced by commission members Tuesday evening is how to make the area safer for residents, and also how to promote a better quality of life for north and east Lubbock.
Chief Jones said that the despite the public's perception, crime in north and east Lubbock is actually comparable to that in other parts of town. He also explained to the concerned citizens that each call to the Lubbock Police Department is taken seriously, regardless of which side of town it comes from. It's the severity and urgency of the call that determines which call is answered first.
