Lubbock Fountain to be Named for Murder Victim

The Lubbock City Council has decided to name the fountain at Leroy Elmore Park in honor of Colonel Don McCullough. The West Point graduate was murdered in southwest Lubbock last year. He was stabbed in his garage as he unloaded dry cleaning from his SUV.

The suspect, Alonzo Lewis, was later found and arrested as he washed dishes at the Rosa's Cafe nearby. Police believe his motive was robbery. Lewis is now charged with capital murder in this case.

Leroy Elmore park is located near Godeke Library, at 66th and Quaker.
