Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity's "Building Blitz" laid down their tools and joined hands in front of the House of Abraham on Wednesday. The house is locally sponsored by Christians, Jews, and Muslims. The Islamic Center of the South Plains held prayer symbolizing unity among the religions. "Really bridges the gaps. It builds bridges of tolerance and understanding for the three religions," said Cherif Amor, Imam of the Islamic Center.
Following the prayer, the group observed a moment of silence at 7:46 a.m., the exact time the first plane hit the World Trade Center one year ago.
