Texas Tech College of Engineering To Be Named For AT&T CEO - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The Texas Tech Football Stadium bears its name. Now, after a multi-million dollar donation, a college will be named after its CEO.

On Wednesday, AT&T presented the Texas Tech College of Engineering with a check for $25 million.

With a worldwide shortage of engineers, it will help fund an effort between the University and AT&T to ensure students receive a first class education in engineering at Texas Tech.

The College of Engineering will be named in honor of CEO Edward E. Whitacre Jr, also a former Texas Tech regent.
