Pick of The Crop: Apple Butter Festival Kicks Off

How does barbecue brisket, apple turnovers, and ice cream sound? That is what is on the menu at this weekends 7th Annual Apple Butter Festival just outside of Idalou at the Rotary Apple Orchard.

While you are there you can take your pick of the crop, take a hay ride through the trees, or get lost in a hay maze. The festival started Saturday and continues through six o'clock Sunday. Admission is only one dollar but for five dollars more you can treat yourself to a barbecue brisket lunch. And while you eat you can listen to live Blue Grass, Country, Gospel, and A Cappella music. All proceeds benefit the Rotary Apple Orchard of the South Plains Food Bank.
