Loop 289 Frontage Road Ramp Closed, Traffic Detoured

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close the Loop 289 frontage road ramp onto Spur 327 to day-time traffic, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Monday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 18.

The daily closure will allow crews to perform concrete work on the $23.5 million project to rebuild Spur 327 as a limited access (freeway) facility, from South Loop 289 to the Brownfield Highway (US 62/82).

Northbound Loop 289 frontage road traffic wanting to access the Spur will be detoured to the 50th Street turn-around, onto the southbound Loop frontage roads and back to the Spur.

TxDOT has placed message boards alerting motorists of the detour. Motorists coming off the southbound Loop 289 main lanes onto the westbound Spur frontage road should be aware that the frontage road will also be reduced to one lane of traffic.

Motorists should expect a delay through this area and are advised to seek an alternative route.

Work will take place weather permitting.
