Although the recession may have a negative effect on local stores, there is some good news. Gas prices are continuing to drop. You can now fill your tank with regular unleaded for as low as $1.74 a gallon.

The state average which remains $1.90 and the national average is more than $2.  Prices have not been this low since Feburary 2005.
