The clock is ticking for Brownfield residents trying to recall Mayor Glenn Waters.
A petition is now being circulated in Brownfield in an effort to recall the mayor. Petitioners tell the Brownfield News they don't agree with the way Waters handled the city's volunteer fire department and other issues.
Earlier this month, we told you six volunteer fire fighters left the department, after a decision to create a new, paid fire chief position. The mayor said the volunteer firefighters were upset with the decision over the new position.
Petitioners have 30 days to collect 500 signatures in order to recall Waters. If the petition is successful, the election will be held in February or March.
