Mandarin Oranges May Be Able To Help Fight Allergies

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has confirmed that the juice from owari satsuma mandarins, which are grown in Placer County, California contain high levels of a natural decongestant.

Joanne Neft, an agriculture advocate says, " I always believe that mandarins were pretty special, because every time mandarin season came around i felt a lot better." Seems to be that she is correct on her belief on the fruit.

Researchers from USDA researchers say that for some reason, they're finding the mandarin oranges grown there contain six to seven times the normal amount of synephrine. That's a "good for you" ingredient that can help fight allergies and cold symptoms. As a result, growers can't harvest these mandarins fast enough to meet the nationwide demand.
