Lubbock Ranks #11 Most Affordable College Town in US

The Red Raiders carry a #2 ranking going into Saturday's battle with Oklahoma, but a national real estate company releases its own set of polls and ranks Texas Tech #11. Don't worry these results have nothing to do with football, rather the most expensive and affordable college towns across America.

Coldwell Banker compared home prices in 119 markets. The houses were approximately 2,200 square feet with four bedrooms, two and half baths and a two car garage. With an average $170,700, Lubbock comes in as the 11th most affordable town in the nation. It holds the number two spot in the Big 12.

That same home is just more than $135,000 in Akron, Ohio where the University of Akron is, coming in as the most affordable college town in America. The most expensive at nearly two million dollars is Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
