Thursday thousands of Americans will quit smoking, well at least for a day.
This year marks the 33rd Annual Great American Smokeout sponsored by the American Cancer Society. We caught up with some Tech students to ask their thoughts on the nationwide event.
Ryder Coughlin thinks, "It's a good idea. Smoking is not good for you and they've proven that. I think stopping for a day for everybody would be nice."
Lori Dossmen said "It gives people a good chance to realize, you know how much money it costs. It's not good for you, I think it's a good idea."
The Society hopes those who stop for a day will be encouraged to quit smoking completely.
