New Developments in Sexual Assault Case

There are new developments in a brutal attack in Central Lubbock. Police say they have a description of the attacker. The victim crawled to a home near 21st and Avenue O around 12:30 last Friday morning. That's after she was beaten and sexually assaulted in a vacant lot next door. When officers responded, the victim could barely speak. She could only say a white man attacked her. The victim has since been released from the hospital, and now police have released new information about the suspect. They're looking for a white male, 25 to 26 years old. He has sandy blond hair with a goatee. At the time he was wearing a black ball cap, a black and white checkered jacket with a hood, and Levi style jeans. When she saw the suspect at the Town and Country on 19th and Avenue P drinking a beer, he offered her a beer. She said no. Then, he followed her on foot and used his fist or possibly a beer can to hit her in the back of the head, before pulling her into some weeds. If you know anything that can help investigators identify this suspect, call CrimeLine at 741-1000.
