We took coupons and United Supermarket circulars, which you can find right as you enter the store, and caught up with the Ralstons who were doing their Thanksgiving shopping for eight.
We went up and down the aisles with the couple searching for the best deals to save money. "Onions, celery, gravy, pecans, cornbread...."
Kathie Ralston's Thanksgiving grocery list keeps going and going. As she pushed up and down the aisles she found that by selecting the items that were on sale or changing brand names saved her some money. She told us that she planned on spending around $150.
With no more room in her cart it was time for to check out. As item after item passed through the cashier's hand Kathie told us that she thought she was going to be over and she was. She ended up spending around $190 but knows that even though she spent more than she planned by following the circular and purchasing sale items she knows she saved money.
Even if you don't typically use coupons or pick up the circular consider doing it because there are some great deals that will help you make the most out of your grocery budget.
If you haven't started your shopping yet, don't worry, United offers complete holiday dinners for 8 starting as low as $36.99. Click here for more information.
