Shots Ring Out In North Lubbock Neighborhood

Residents in a north Lubbock neighborhood say they are shaken up after someone was shot on their street Tuesday evening.

"This neighborhood has been very quiet for at least 20 years, 20 years that I've been living around here. This is pretty much one of the first incidences that has happened in this neighborhood," said Marco Martinez.

Police say an argument over money broke out in the 3300 block of 1st Place just before 8 p.m. The confrontation escalated into a fight and then someone fired at least two shots. "I heard the first shot and I turned around and it was right outside and I seen the gunfire and you know automatically I threw down my wife and my daughter on the ground," says Martinez.

One person was grazed by a bullet, but refused treatment. Police have not yet released any information on a possible suspect.
