Leaders Break Ground On Jones AT&T Stadium Expansion

Texas Tech University leaders officially kicked-off the eastside expansion project at Jones AT&T Stadium Saturday morning. The $25-million project will mirror the west side. It will add more than 500-club seats and 26-new suites.  The new building is expected to open for the 2010 season.

"This really helps our athletic program. This comes after we got two large donations in engineering, and so this is a well rounded fund raising opportunity we have, not only in athletics, but also in academia," Texas Tech University Chancellor Kent Hance said.  Project leaders raised more than $28-million for the project since August. The extra money will help fund the north end expansion, which will add more seats for students. Tech leaders are still mapping out that project, but tell us they hope to make an announcement soon.
