Lubbock Man Recovering After Police Say Wife Shot Him in the Chest - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A Lubbock woman is behind bars after she allegedly shot her husband in the chest with what she thought was an unloaded gun.

Steven Williams called 911 just before midnight Saturday night and said he had just been shot by his wife at their home in the 5000 Block of 52nd Street.

Steven told police the two were arguing when 54-year-old Beverly Williams shot him in the chest. Beverly told police she didn't know there were bullets in the gun.

EMS took Steven to University Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested Beverly and took her to jail. She's been charged with aggravated assault.
